Yasmin Valji

Yasmin is an experienced economist providing insight on regulatory and policy issues, particularly in energy markets.

She uses her knowledge of energy markets with endless curiosity and appreciation for detail to provide insight and pragmatic solutions to the vast array of changes facing these markets. Recent examples of her work include evaluating the impact of a change to transmission charges in GB’s gas network,  commenting on liquidity intervention in the Irish wholesale power market, and describing future changes to the regulatory approach for airport tarifs.

Prior to joining Frontier, Yasmin worked in both the private and public sectors in the energy sector. She was a senior economist in the wholesale power and gas markets at Ofgem, the GB energy regulator, and worked as a consultant for Law and Economics Consulting Group (LECG) in New Zealand on a range of projects in energy, health, and public policy.

Yasmin is based in Frontier’s Paris office and is bilingual in French. She holds an MA in Economics and French from Victoria University (Wellington), and the University of Auckland, New Zealand, respectively.
