Maria Guijon

Maria applies quantitative and qualitative techniques to better understand social and economic issues and inform policy decisions across different sectors.

Since joining Frontier in 2019, Maria has applied statistical and modelling techniques to assess public policies and competition/regulatory issues in the Water and Energy sectors. Recent examples of her work include analysing the effect of technology on economic growth and developing a general equilibrium model to assess the effects of vertical integration on welfare.

Prior to Frontier, Maria was an Associate at APOYO Consultoria in Peru where she acquired a wide experience in public and social policy. She worked with public and private sector clients and international organisations such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Maria holds and MSc in Development Economics from the University of Sussex and a BSc in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru. She is registered as an Approved Researcher at the ONS and is also a member of the pro-bono network at Frontier.
