Scoping the feasibility of impact evaluation of Bloody Good Employers

Frontier is delighted to support Bloody Good Period (BGP) on a pro bono basis with a feasibility study for an impact evaluation of their Bloody Good Employers (BGE) program.

BGE was launched in 2021 as an initiative by the charity BGP to create fairer and safer workplaces for employees and all who menstruate. The program’s key objectives are to review and improve policy, culture and communications around periods and menopause at work to create a positive impact for employees, employers, and wider society. Profit from the programme is donated to support the wider work of BGP which includes a sustainable flow of menstrual products and education for those who cannot afford or access.

Our study aims to provide the key building blocks upon which an evaluation framework could be based, to assess the extent to which the intended outcomes of the programme were achieved. It will be used internally by BGP to inform strategic next steps as well as externally to support discussions with current and future BGE partners.

Joe Gray, Co-Founder, Bloody Good Employers, said:

“Working with the Frontier Economics team has given us a valuable roadmap for evaluation of our groundbreaking programme. We’re so proud of Bloody Good Employers and the needles it’s pushing, so to have a clear route forward on how to measure its impact is a great position to be in, and as a small team we’re very grateful to have landed here with Frontier’s significant guidance and expertise. Having the chance to reflect on our work with the team, and folding this thinking into an updated theory of change has also on our work with the team, and folding this thinking into an updated theory of change has been a privilege. We hope to be able to do much more with Frontier moving forward.”

Sarah Snelson, Director, Public Policy, said:

“It has been a pleasure working with Bloody Good Period and in so doing hearing about their critical work to change the conversation about menstruation in the workplace”

Frontier runs a programme of pro bono consultancy projects helping charities demonstrate the economic impact of their work.
