Frontier presents on stakeholder challenges at BSG conference in London

Martin Duckworth of Frontier (Europe) today presented on stakeholder challenges at the Broadband Stakeholder Group’s (BSG) “Competition in our Converged World” conference held in London.

In his presentation, Martin gave an overview of the challenges facing stakeholders in re-designing regulations in the light of communications strategies taken by the European Commission and Ofcom.  While there is general agreement that the current framework has delivered results, Martin explored concerns that it cannot address future challenges.

The event explored major competition issues surrounding the future of the UK telecoms market including:

  • the benefits and challenges of converging networks;
  • the competition models that are most viable and beneficial for the end-user;
  • issues around balancing innovation and regulation, including how bundling affects the consumer; and
  • where and what we can deregulate.

The Broadband Stakeholder Group is the UK Government’s advisory forum for telecoms policy bringing together companies from across the broadband value chain with the ultimate aim of helping to create a strong and competitive UK economy.

Frontier (Europe) regularly advises organisations and regulators on competition and policy issues in the telecommunications sector.
