Frontier’s report for Universities UK, estimates the economic contribution of the Higher Education (HE) sector in England is £95bn.

Other significant impacts of the HE sector in England include:

• providing world leading education and research;
• generating close to £35bn in revenue and employing around 360,000 people directly;
• supporting more than 815,000 jobs in total across the economy;
• making a significant economic contribution across the English regions.

The HE sector already plays a significant role in the ‘levelling up’ agenda, with positive impacts felt in every region.
