GES Alumni Event: Is GDP a good measure of a society’s welfare?

The Government Economic Service Alumni board will be hosting their annual GES Alumni Event on Wednesday June 19th, from 6–9 p.m. at Frontier Economics in London.

Professor Dame Diane Coyle

Co-Director of the Bennett Institute for Public Policy at Cambridge University. Diane will present her ideas on how economics needs to change to keep pace with social change and the digital economy, as outlined in her book “Cogs and Monsters: What economics is, and what it should be”.

Gus O’Donnell

Chair of Frontier Economics, former Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service; and Sam Beckett, Chief Economist, HM Treasury and Head of the GES.
