Michael Ridge appointed to Executive Committee of the Institute for Fiscal Studies

Michael Ridge, Director in the Public Policy Practice at Frontier Economics, has been appointed to the Council of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).  He will also serve as an Executive Committee member.  His appointment is for a three-year term.

The IFS is a non-partisan research institute which aims to bridge the gap between policy makers and academic research, providing insights into areas including tax and benefit policy, consumer behaviour, education, labour markets, international development and economic growth. The Council provides strategic advice on the Institute’s finances and research. The Executive Committee, elected from the Council, are trustees of the IFS, responsible for the overall financial well-being of the Institute.

Prior to joining Frontier, Michael spent five years working at IFS where he was a Programme Manager focusing on public spending and the interaction between central and local government. At the end of 2015, Gus O’Donnell, Frontier’s Chairman, was elected as the new President of the IFS Council.
