Frontier Economics Reaffirms Commitment to the UN Global Compact for 2024

We are proud to reaffirm our continued commitment to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) for the eleventh consecutive year with our 2024 Communication of Progress.

The UNGC stands as the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, uniting over 20,000 businesses globally in the mission to support sustainable development.  Since becoming a signatory in 2014, Frontier has embraced the UNGC’s ten principles and has reflected these values into our business practices and culture ever since.

This year’s Communication outlines the important steps we have made, building on our success from previous years that align to the UNGC principles. We believe that businesses have a crucial role to play in promoting sustainability and positive social impact, and this is part of our ongoing dedication to fostering a sustainable future.

Key highlights from our 2024 report include:

  • Strengthened our guidance for managers and senior staff to ensure all projects align with UNGC principles.
  • Implemented a new tool for ongoing monitoring of prospective and current clients against international sanctions lists, enhancing our ethical standards.
  • Continued to embed our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) strategy, achieving notable milestones such as 57% female representation in Manager promotions, 40% in Associate Director promotions, and 50% in Director promotions.
  • Achieved a 12% reduction in carbon emissions over the previous year, furthering our commitment to reaching Net Zero by 2030.
  • Supported environmental goals through pro bono work with Sustainability First, contributing to the development of fair climate policies.
  • Launched a comprehensive internal guidance on ethical project selection, accompanied by a new Ethical Considerations Assessment template for relevant cases.

Frontier’s Chief Operating Officer, James Bellis, says that “This year’s statement marks a decade that Frontier has been a signatory to the UNGC. [We] strongly support the UN Global Compact and the role that businesses play in promoting sustainability and development goals.”

Frontier remains committed to advancing sustainability and social responsibility, ensuring that our work contributes to a better future for all.
