Mette Alfter speaks on abuse of dominance at the Hungarian Competition Law Association

Mette Alfter, an Associate Director in Frontier’s competition practice, spoke at the annual meeting of the Hungarian Competition Law Association in Budapest today on abuse of dominance.

Mette provided an overview of recent developments in relation to abuse of dominance cases from a competition economics perspective, covering European Commission cases such as Intel, Qualcomm, Google Shopping, and Facebook in Germany; as well as the recent revival of excessive pricing cases across a variety of jurisdictions.

The presentation also addressed the current debate around the concerns regarding “Big Tech” and the question as to whether or not our current tools are enough to assess market power and its potential abuse in these markets.

Frontier regularly advises on competition issues across Europe.
